How Does It Work?
Step 1
Measure your window openings and place your order online.
All our DIY Shutter Kits are custom built just for your windows. So all you need to do is measure your window opening’s Width and height to get an accurate price on your Shutter Kits. We recomend measure the Width in 3 places (Top, Middle, Bottom) as well as the Height in 3 places (Left, Middle, Right) in case you window or drywall is a little out of square (most are) and give us the smallest of those 3 measurements. It is also recommended to measure your window depth (the distance from your wall surface back to the window glass. Usually 1-4″ deep) to ensure you have enough room for your louvers to tilt open and closed.
Step 2
We will create your custom Shutters out of 100% hardwood.
All our DIY Shutter Kits are made from 100% Hardwood. We only use the best products and top quality craftsmanship to make our shutters; Poplar or Basswood.
Step 3
Your custom built shutters will ship right to your door.
One of the ways we are able to keep our costs so low, is we stay in wood shop where we are comfortable and simply mail your shutter kits to your door without having to hire installers and a fleet of vehicles. We ship exclusively with FedEx to get your DIY Shutter kits delivered safely right to your doorstep.
Step 4
Follow the instructions to easily assembly your shutters
Along with a number of instructional videos found on the website, each DIY Shutter Kit ships with easy step-by-step instructions to show you just how easy it is to assemble and install your very own plantation shutters in your home and save yourself thousands of dollars along the way.
Step 5
A quick coat of paint will ensure your shutters last.
Our DIY Shutter Kits will ship to you primed white, ready to assemble. Though the shutters will look great just primed, we do recommend shooting a quick 1-2 light coats of paint on them to ensure they last for years and years. This may seem like a daunting task but it is actually much easier than you would expect. Watch our how-to video here.
Step 6
Simply Install your new shutters into your windows.
And now the exciting part! Hanging your shutters in your windows. We will supply all the hardware needed to hang your shutters up in your home and with our ItWillFit™ guarantee, you don’t have to worry about your shutters not fitting. Now sit back and enjoy the new look of your home.
